Frank B. Walsh Professor of Neuro-Ophthalmology
Dr. Miller graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor of arts degree in biochemistry. He earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Miller completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of California.
Dr. Miller first joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1976 and is now a professor of ophthalmology, neurology, neurosurgery and a Frank B. Walsh professor of neuro-ophthalmology. He is an active member in several national organizations and has served as president of both the International Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. He is also an annual participant in both scientific programs and instructional courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Miller has received several accolades for his work throughout his career, including the Distinguished Services Award from the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Miller is board-certified in ophthalmology
