Ask The Expert

The Patient Education Series, Ask the Expert, is an opportunity for patients, families, staff and visitors to ask questions and receive handouts on a given topic. No reservations are needed. All programs will be held in the 1st floor Weinberg Lobby unless otherwise noted.

Brain Tumor Education Group

All patients, family members and caregivers are welcome. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Weinberg Building, Room B-143, located on level L-2 in the Radiation Oncology Department. Refreshments will be served. Complimentary parking provided.

Multiple Myeloma Support Group

This group is for patients and their caregivers to learn about living with multiple myeloma and meet others with similar concerns.  Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month from 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the Weinberg Auditorium.  Refreshments will be served.  Complimentary parking provided.

Who Helps You Make Medical Decisions?

Have you selected a Health Care Agent?  Who will make medical decisions for you in the event you are unable to do so?  Be sure to visit our information table to learn about advance directives and selecting a health care agent.

Bone Marrow Transplant Support Group

The Bone Marrow Transplant Support Group is a place for caregivers of transplant patients to learn about caregiving and coping while supporting someone undergoing a transplant. Each week will focus on a topic of interest such as nausea and fatigue to nutrition, with an emphasis on sharing positive coping skills. The group is an opportunity to meet others going through transplant, share coping skills and socialize.

Please join our Nursing Educator and Lacy Fetting,
LCSW-C, for education and support every Wednesday at 11:15 AM on Weinberg Unit 5B, room 5213 (Ms. Fetting’s office).

Education and Resource Rooms

Open Daily 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
The Education and Resource Rooms offer patients and families access to resource information and educational materials in the forms of books, pamphlets, videotapes and through Internet access.

Patient and Family Services Education and Resource Room

Located in the Harry J. Duffey Family Patient and Family Services Program, Suite 1210 (we appreciate and gladly accept any donations of books, videos, and additional resources related to cancer and its treatment).

Patient Education Resource Room

The Patient Education Resource Room is located on the 2nd floor of the Weinberg Building in the Outpatient Infusion waiting room.
