Cutting Edge Research

Patients of the Johns Hopkins Melanoma Program have access to revolutionary clinical trials, as Johns Hopkins Melanoma researchers are constantly exploring new therapy targets. Johns Hopkins was among the first to pioneer the investigation of immune-based therapies involving PD-1, a protein whose pathway can be blocked to restore the body's ability to detect and attack cancer. Our clinical research programs offer studies for patients with various stages of melanoma, ranging from preventing disease recurrence in high-risk surgical patients to developing innovative drug therapies for patients with advanced metastatic disease.

The Johns Hopkins Melanoma Program treats patients at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Green Spring Station, and Sibley Memorial Hospital.
