About Us

Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Program is a research core within Johns Hopkins Division of Occupational & Environmental Medicine (DOEM), which is dedicated to provide research support and services in occupational and environmental epidemiology to Johns Hopkins Health, Safety & Environment Department and all other governmental, academic, and industrial organizations.

Our Services

  • Provide services to engage in clinical trials to evaluate effectiveness of occupational and environmental health/safety products, such as heated wrap for the treatment of low back pain;
  • Provide services to engage in epidemiological studies to demonstrate associations between particular occupational/environmental exposures and diseases, such as cancer risk among fire fighters;
  • Provide services in development of statistical tools to predict workers’ compensation costs and identify individual claims which may have potential risk of being catastrophic cost claims;
  • Provide services to establish health profiles for companies/industries to demonstrate the health status of workers compared to general US population;
  • Provide services in data analysis and modeling for information collected in occupational and environmental surveillances;
  • Provide services in meta-analysis and literature reviews on any topic in occupational and environmental epidemiology per customer’s request; 
  • Provide training opportunities in occupational and environmental epidemiological research methods to domestic and international research fellows or students.
