About Us

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) has the goal of providing guidance and direction in all phases of the safety program including occupational safety and health, environmental control, chemical safety. Our goal is to promote the industrial hygiene and safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Our Services

  • Identify and control chemical hazards.
  • Monitor and administers hazardous chemical waste disposal program.
  • Conduct environmental sampling/monitoring.
  • Respond to chemical spills and accidents.
  • Investigate complaints related to workplace exposures.
  • Conduct training in the use, control and disposal of hazardous chemicals
  • Ensure EPA compliance.
  • Provide lifting guideline

* females who are pregnant should not lift more than 25 lbs.

Hazardous Material Disposal Schedule

**Update: New Chemical Receiving Room - Effective February 1, 2020, Chemical Receiving on the 10th floor of WBSB will move to PCTB - G6. Chemical waste will not be accepted on the 10th floor of WBSB. Chemical receiving will still be on every Wednesday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The new location applies to the following: Biophysics, Physiology, PCTB, Hunterian and WBSB.**
