Symphony of Lights Festivities

Symphony of Lights is a spectacular display of 70 larger-than-life, animated and stationary light creations.  It is a long-standing community tradition and a "must-see" during the holiday season. Enjoy the Symphony of Lights in a variety of ways.

This Year's Festivities

Dazzle Dash Weekend
Saturday, November 17 / 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.- Runners event
Sunday, November 18 / 4:00 - 7:30  p.m. - Family fun day and stroll- Walkers event
A fun filled kick-off community event to celebrate the opening of the 19th Annual Symphony of Lights. Friends and families gather to walk or run 1.4 miles through the magical outdoor display of lights. Come and experience the excitement as the holiday season begins. Enjoy games and activities for children of all ages, food, entertainment and giveaways. Click here for details.

Drive Through the Lights
Monday, November 19, 2012 - Sunday, January 6, 2013
Open 7 days a week, from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., including holidays except CLOSED December 31st for the Midnight at 7 event.

Cars, vans and buses can take a 20-30 minute drive-through the Symphony of Lights. Enjoy a beautiful display of holiday light creations, illuminated by a fantasy of color, design, and animation. Delightful for all ages!  Click here for details.

Group Walk Through the Lights
Mondays & Wednesdays ONLY, November 26 - December 19 / 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.
Perfect for work groups, scout groups, school groups and more!  Experience the Symphony of Lights in a group setting by taking a 1.4 mile stroll through the light displays and make this your group’s holiday tradition.  *Registration Required!*   Please call 410-740-7840 for reservations.  Click here for details.

Blinkin' Binkies
Thursday, December 6 / 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.
Families can celebrate the season with a leisurely 1.4 mile stroll through the dazzling light displays. Children in strollers and wagons are welcome. Click here for details.

Tail Lights
Tuesday, December 11 / 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.
Back by popular demand! Treat your dog to a walk through the 1.4 mile Symphony of Lights. We encourage you to dress your dog in festive attire.Click here for details.

Midnight at 7
Monday, December 31 / 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
See Howard County dazzle with a New Year's Eve fireworks display!  Celebrate with your family and friends. Walk through the Symphony of Lights, enjoy the toasty bonfire, food vendors, music, party favors and more! Click here for details.

Directions to Symphony of Lights at Symphony Woods, Columbia, MD:
From I-95, take Rt. 32 West (Exit 38-B) toward Columbia; exit at Rt. 29 North (Columbia Town Center); proceed to Exit 18-B (Broken Land Parkway) and follow signs to Merriweather Post Pavilion entrance on the right.Mapping your route?  Symphony of Lights is located at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Hickory Ridge Road, Columbia, MD  21044.

Parking for Symphony of Lights Festivities:
Dazzle Dash and Midnight at 7 parking:Follow driving directions above, continue 2/10 of a mile past Merriweather Post Pavilion entrance on Broken Land Parkway to the Corporate 70 Building; parking lot located at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway; or the Mall in Columbia parking lot, located directly behind the Corporate 70 Building.

Parking for Walk Throughs, Blinkin' Binkies and Tail Lights:Follow driving directions above, use the entrance for Merriweather Post Pavilion on the right.  Follow the signs to onsite parking.  The registration/check-in tables will be located at the entrance of the course.
