Major Elements of the Plan

  • A new five-level patient pavilion that will include three new inpatient floors, resulting in a net increase of 42 medical/surgical beds. All new rooms will be private and virtually all of the existing semi-private patient rooms will be converted to private rooms

The benefit to our community: Private rooms promote healing, increase patient satisfaction and improve medical outcomes. They have been shown to reduce the risk of infection, enhance patient safety and reduce disturbances
  • Patient-focused design and the latest technology, which will work in synergy to advance patient carePatient's Room

The benefit to our community: Standardized floor design will allow hospital staff to quickly orient themselves to each of the units. Each new inpatient floor will contain 30 private rooms with individual nursing stations located outside every room. Wireless computers will allow nurses to document all patient care electronically
  • A new dedicated critical care floor

The benefit to our community: The dedicated floor will allow convenient, coordinated care for our sickest patients as they move to the appropriate level of care during their recovery
  • A new lobby entrance and outpatient services area will occupy the ground level of the pavilion to provide convenient access for our outpatients

The benefit to our community: A new entrance will provide improved comfort for hospital visitors, and a centralized outpatient rehabilitation area will consolidate currently scattered physical therapy and rehabilitation disciplines
  • Surgical Services, the Laboratory and the Hospital Pharmacy will be housed in the sublevel of the new pavilion

The benefit to our community: New and larger operating rooms will increase our surgical capacity and allow for state-of-the art equipment. The laboratory will be reconfigured and enlarged, providing better work flow and improved testing procedures. A new and larger pharmacy will provide ample space for processing medications
  • Information Systems will be relocated in order to accommodate and support new information and clinical data systems

The benefit to our community: An assurance that the most advanced technology will support their care
  • Garage RenderingA new 550-space employee parking garage

The benefit to our community: This much-needed expansion of the parking facilities will alleviate parking concerns for our patients and their families.
