HCGH Psychiatric Department

Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine (HCGH) offers psychiatric services by board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, and nurses who are specially trained in mental health. Care is provided using a multidisciplinary approach under the direction of a clinical director and a nurse manager.

Our 20-bed inpatient Psychiatric Services unit serves adult patients, 18 and older. Emergency psychiatric services for adults are provided in a specialized area of the Hospital’s Emergency Department specifically designed and constructed for this purpose. Emergency psychiatric services for children and adolescents are provided within the Pediatric Emergency Department
