Our Approach to Care
At the Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service, we take a three-pronged approach to care:
- Surgical Expertise: Our gynecologic oncologists are skilled surgeons who take a proactive approach to treating their patients. This has made us a nationally recognized gynecologic cancer treatment center. Our focus on minimally invasive surgical procedures – when appropriate – results in shorter recovery times and better outcomes for our patients.
- Teamwork: Johns Hopkins is home to world-renowned researchers and doctors in every area of medicine. Our gynecologic oncologists work alongside specialists from different fields to offer our patients the most comprehensive and evidenced-based care. Learn more about the members of our team.
- The Whole Patient: Our philosophy is to treat the whole patient, not just her cancer. Learn about our compassionate support services, including programs for young cancer survivors or those desiring fertility preservation through the Kelly Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship Center.
A Service of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins
Our treatment of women with gynecologic cancers is just one of the many services offered at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. We are one of only two hospitals in the state of Maryland to receive the prestigious designation of Comprehensive Cancer Center from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The rapid pace of discovery and the improved cancer treatments that the NCI-designated cancer centers have helped pioneer have contributed substantially to the increase in the number of cancer survivors in the United States, as well as to the increased quality of their lives. When you choose the Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service, you not only receive care from one of our outstanding gynecologic cancer experts, but from a dedicated, multidisciplinary cancer care team.
