Nurse Coordinator

Jennifer Kearney, R.N.C., is a career obstetric nurse specializing in fetal therapy for the past five years. She is a compassionate, professional nurse committed to seamless coordination of care for the special population she serves, ensuring each patient is comfortable and confident in the care received. Kearney reliably uses excellent clinical skills to provide comprehensive nursing care during prenatal appointments, fetal testing and surgical procedures, and she has been an integral part of developing the outstanding service for which the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy is becoming known. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland School of Nursing.

Senior Sonographer II/Data Coordinator

Cyrethia “CiCi” McShane graduated as valedictorian of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and magna cum laude from Weber State University, with a major in diagnostic medical sonography and a minor in health care administration. McShane has worked for the Johns Hopkins Health Systems for over 20 years. She started her career in the Johns Hopkins Prenatal Diagnosis and Treatment Center, where she rose to the position of senior sonographer/programmer analyst. She transferred to Howard County General Hospital as the chief perinatal sonographer in its Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine. When the unique position of senior sonographer II/data coordinator was created for the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy, she saw this as a great opportunity to combine her unique skill sets in diagnostic medical sonography and information technology in the cutting-edge field of fetal therapy.

Sarah Millard, Senior Sonographer

Sarah Millard is a senior sonographer for the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy. She has more than 10 years of experience as a high-risk obstetrical sonographer at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, specializing in multiple gestations, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of high-risk maternal and fetal conditions, assisting with ultrasound guidance for fetal procedures, and performing fetal echocardiography. Millard graduated from the Johns Hopkins Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program after earning a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Towson University. She strives to give all of her patients exceptional care, undivided attention and support.

Katherine Rock, Genetic Counselor

Genetic Counselor

Katherine “Katie” Rock, M.S., C.G.C., is the prenatal genetic counselor for the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy, where she meets with patients whose children may be at an increased risk for a genetic condition or birth defect. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Virginia and her master’s degree in genetic counseling at the University of Texas Health Science Center. 

Erika Seitz, Social Worker

Erika Seitz, M.S.W., is the social worker in the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy. Seitz has experience working in obstetrics for many years, helping women throughout Baltimore City. Her clinical practice is focused on the maternal adjustment to fetal anomalies during and after pregnancy. Seitz aims to provide the tools for psychological, emotional and social stability of all patients. Seitz earned her master’s degree in social work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She earned her undergraduate degree in behavioral health at Pennsylvania State University.

Viola Seravalli, Chief Sonographer

Viola Seravalli, M.D., R.D.M.S., is chief sonographer for the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy. She is a board-certified specialist in obstetrics and gynecology in Italy, where she received her medical degree and completed her residency. She has a comprehensive knowledge of obstetrical ultrasound and prenatal care. She acquired advanced training and experience in performing high-risk obstetrical ultrasound studies, including targeted fetal echocardiography and 3- and 4-dimensional ultrasound studies. She is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and of book chapters on maternal care and prenatal diagnosis, specifically focused on fetal growth restriction and maternal hypertensive disorders.
