A clinical nurse in the Emergency Department during the mid-1980s, Ms. Shahan rejoined the Department in 1989, assuming primary research nursing responsibility for Dr. Kelen’s various investigational protocols. She now works with the Department Director to coordinate the academic, financial and regulatory requirements set forth by the University as they relate to the department's research initiatives and grants management. A member of the faculty, her research interests include HIV and infectious diseases.
