Prior to joining the faculty of Johns Hopkins in 1990, Dr. Mysko had 15 years of experience as an emergency physician in both the U.S. Army as well as three community hospitals, including 6 years as Director of the Emergency Department of Mercy Hospital in Baltimore.  While at Mercy, he was also Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

During his 16 years at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Mysko has served on numerous departmental, hospital and external committees, including the Baltimore Fire Department Medical Advisory Board of which he was Chairman.  Dr. Mysko was the  Cliincal Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 1991 - 1996.  From 2001 to 2006, he was also a full-time attending in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Dr Mysko had several years of experience on the faculty of the Baltimore City Community College teaching paramedic courses.  He has not only been an author of Emergency Medicine publications, but has also been published in the field of teleradiolgy.
