Dr. Millin joined the faculty in 2004 after completing a two year fellowship in Emergency Medical Services and his MPH in Health Management and Policy. Millin is the medical director for the BWI airport fire and rescue department, the assistant medical director for Region III in the Maryland EMS system (MIEMSS), and serves on the state EMS protocol committee.  In addition, he is the medical director for the Johns Hopkins critical care transport program, Lifeline.

Nationally, Dr. Millin is the chair of the standards and practice committee with the National Association of EMS Physicians, and a member of the expert panel on field triage for trauma with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Dr. Millin also serves as a medical officer with the New Jersey-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team.  Most recently, he deployed with the team for two weeks in Haiti, staffing a medical tent at an internally displaced person’s camp immediately after the 2010 earthquake. Dr. Millin got his start in medicine working as a full time, paid member of the ski patroll in Utah where he was trained as an avalanche rescue technician.  He has since served as the immediate past medical director for the National Ski Patrol and is on the editorial board of the 5th edition of the NSP textbook, Outdoor Emergency Care. In his free time, Dr. Millin enjoys being with his wife and kids and enjoying outdoor activities, especially skiing, hiking, and canoeing.
