Johns Hopkins University, EM (1993) Dr. Levy joined the faculty in 1994. From 1995-1999, he attended the University of Maryland Law School where he graduated with honors. During the past ten years, he briefly served as the Director of Medical Student Education and has been the recipient of numerous faculty teaching awards. Dr. Levy has several areas of academic interest that include the legal and policy implications of medical error, tort reform and high risk medical liability. Dr. Levy has lectured nationally on a variety of legal medicine topics. He has first authored a number of peer reviewed articles in both the medical and legal literature and is currently a reviewer for the Annals of Emergency Medicine. For the last fourteen years, Dr. Levy has served as a Legal Medicine consultant to the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the areas of risk management, malpractice litigation and heath related ethical issues. In addition, over the last fifteen years, he has developed extensive expertise in medical malpractice case review and analysis. He is currently the Director of the first Fellowship in Legal Medicine in the country.
