Dr. Lasanta Horana is the Administrative fellow and he earned both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences and Africana Studies and his Master of Science Degree in Molecular Genetics from Rutgers College, The State University of New Jersey with High Honors.  He was also the recipient of The Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar Award and the recipient of The Paul Robertson Scholar Award. Dr. Horana completed his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  He was inducted to Alpha Omega Alpha – National Medical Honor Society, the recipient of the Academic Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award, Recipient of the Dean’s Recognition Award, Recipient of the Alumni Award in Leadership, and delivered the convocational speech of the graduating class of 2004.

Dr. Horana also held the office of Class President for three academic years and was involved in the Health Outreach Project as a Student Doctor.Dr. Horana also has many teaching positions to his credit such as:  Teaching Assistant (1997-2000), Coordinator/Instructor (1999-2000), and Course Director (2000).  He was also appointed the Commissioner of the  New Jersey Commission on Higher Education by the New Jersey Governor.

Dr. Horana, came to Johns Hopkins, Department of Emergency Medicine  in 2004 to complete his residency where he held the position of Chief Resident. He was an active Resident Member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Emergency Medicine Residency Association (EMRA), Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), and the American Medical Association (AMA).
