Dr. Hosek joined the faculty in 2001 and he currently serves as the Deputy Director of Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.  class="bodytext"He is responsible for the development of two focused ultrasound programs.  The first program was in 1999 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis while he was an assistant professor at Washington University School of Medicine. The second program was at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and he has served as director of that program since 2001.  Dr. Hosek class="bodytext"has lectured extensively on the subject of clinician performed ultrasound and was the recipient of the 2004 Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine teaching award. He has received service excellence awards from Johns Hopkins in 2005 and 2007 for his clinical work and in 2007 he developed one of the largest free web sites dedicated to focused ultrasound instruction (www.BedsideUltrasound.com).  Dr. Hosek is active in community service and is a member of the New Jersey-based Team Michael(www.TeamMichael.org) which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for AIDS relief.
