Victor C. Urrutia, M.D.

Dr.  Urrutia is certified by the American Society of Neuroimaging and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with a subspecialty certification in Vascular Neurology, Dr. Urrutia focuses on the clinical aspects of cerebrovascular disease (stroke), specifically acute stroke therapy, and epidemiology/prevention. His goal is to contribute to improving acute stroke care and prevention, as well as reducing disparities in stroke incidence and mortality in minority populations.

Dr. Urrutia received his medical degree from the University of Panama School of Medicine and completed his neurology training at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, now Drexel University College of Medicine. After his residency training, he completed fellowship training in neurocritical care and acute stroke at Drexel University College of Medicine and became a faculty member in its neurocritical care and acute stroke division.

His seminar entitled Stroke Essentials is scheduled for Session III: (2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.).
