Wendy Post, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Wendy Post is associate professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology, in the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has a joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology in the Bloomberg School of Public Health. In addition, Dr. Post is a cardiologist at the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease and the Echocardiography Laboratory.

Her research interests focus on prediction and prevention of coronary heart disease and sudden cardiac death, noninvasive imaging of subclinical atherosclerosis, genetics of cardiovascular disease, and also cardiovascular disease in HIV/AIDS. She is the principal investigator for the Hopkins site for the NIH funded Multi-Ethnic study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) and for the Multi-Center AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) Cardiovascular Disease substudy.

After earning her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, Dr. Post completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Post continued her education by pursuing a master’s degree in epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and completed a fellowship in cardiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
