Lee M. Akst, M.D.

A nationally renowned expert on ailments of the vocal cords and the preservation of the human voice, Dr. Akst is the director of the Johns Hopkins Voice Center.  

He has published numerous journal articles and book chapters on the subject, and is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

He received his medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation before completing his fellowship in laryngology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He will discuss Saving Your Voice at A Woman's Journey in Session IV, 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
