Peter Rabins, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Peter Rabins is professor and vice chair for academic affairs in the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  He also has joint appointments in the department of medicine, and in the departments of Health Policy & Management and Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Rabins has focused his career on the study of psychiatric disorders in the elderly. His current research focuses on the effectiveness of current therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, the development of measures of quality of life in persons with Alzheimer’s disease, and the care of patients with late-stage dementia.

Dr. Rabins received a B.A. in political science from the University of Florida, his medical degree from Tulane University and an M.P.H. from Tulane University School of Public Health. After a psychiatry residence at the University of Oregon, he completed a one-year fellowship in consultation/liaison and neuropsychiatry at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and has been on the faculty there since 1978. 

He will discuss A Trip Down Memory Lane at A Woman's Journey in Session I, 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
