Chi Chiung Grace Chen, M.D.

An expert in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, Chi Chiung Grace Chen, M.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Chen’s research has been included in numerous publications, such as the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the International Urogynecology Journal and Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases.

Her interests are pelvic floor disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, lower urinary tract symptoms and minimally invasive surgical techniques for gynecologic and urogynecologic surgeries, including conventional laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.

In addition, Dr. Chen has an interest in international medicine and gynecological issues that affect women in developing countries. Most recently, she spent time in Bahirdar, Ethiopia, where she operated on women with obstetric fistulas.

Dr. Chen received her M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine. After completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Chen finished a fellowship in female pelvic medicine, reconstructive surgery and minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

She will discuss Leaking Bladders and Falling Vaginas: Are These The Inevitable Mantra of Aging? at A Woman's Journey 2009 in Session IV, 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
