An expert in female urology and a world-renowned authority in the science and medicine of erectile dysfunction, Dr. Arthur Burnett is the director of the Basic Science Laboratory in Neurourology at Johns Hopkins. He is a professor in the Department of Urology in the School of Medicine.
Specializing in sexual medicine, major pelvic reconstruction, voiding dysfunction and prostate cancer, Dr. Burnett has been a member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. He has served in multiple professional capacities with medical organizations and committees, including the National Institutes of Health and the FDA Advisory Committee for Reproduction Health Drugs.
Dr. Burnett has written more than 150 original peer-review articles and 30 book chapters, along with numerous additional editorials and publications. He also holds journal editor appointments as co-editor in chief of the Journey of Andrology, assistant editor of the Journal of Urology, and reviews editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
Burnett received his A.B. in biology from Princeton University and his M.D. and M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in general surgery, urology, and reconstructive urology and urodynamics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
