Paul Auwaerter, M.D.

Clinical Director, Division of Infectious Diseases

Dr. Auwaerter is an associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine serving as the clinical director for the Division of Infectious Diseases. 

Additionally, he is the chief medical officer of the Johns Hopkins Point of Care Information Technology (POC-IT) Center, which produces both the Johns Hopkins ABX (Antibiotic) and HIV Guides. He also serves as the managing editor for the Johns Hopkins ABX Guide.

Dr. Auwaerter’s clinical and research interests include Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr virus and respiratory tract infections.

He is a graduate of Columbia College and received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. Dr. Auwaerter completed his internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins and served as assistant chief of service.

Following fellowship, he joined the Johns Hopkins faculty as an assistant professor of medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine practicing both infectious diseases and primary care. 

He will discuss Top 10 Infections at A Woman's Journey 2009 in Session I, 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
