Neuroanesthesia

The resident on the required month-long Introductory Neurosurgical Anesthesia rotation manages a variety of cases including: craniotomies, major spine surgeries, and interventional neurovascular procedures. Residents discuss the details of preoperative preparation, intraoperative care, and postoperative management with a faculty member prior to the start of each case. These faculty members then supervise and mentor residents throughout the cases with intraoperative teaching and assistance. An optional advanced neuroanesthesia rotation is also offered for senior residents interested in gaining additional experience in this specialty.
