Laura Drach, DO

Pediatric Medicine

Dr. Drach specializes in hospice and palliative care medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She was one of the founding members of and serves as the division chief for the pediatric palliative care program at the hospital. She joined the hospital staff as a bedside nurse in 1994. Dr. Drach won the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital clinical collaboration and teamwork award in the 2016 Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Excellence Awards.

Amanda Bashir, MD

Palliative Care Medicine

Dr. Bashir specializes in pediatric palliative care at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2021. Dr. Bashir earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. She completed a pediatric residency and chief residency from St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine from St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University.

Jacinda Hays, DO

Palliative Care Medicine

Dr. Hays specializes in palliative care at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2020. Before joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s, Dr. Hays was the adult and pediatric inpatient palliative care physician at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, and the neonatal abstinence syndrome program director at Carilion Women’s. She was also the medical director of newborn nursery at Mednax Health Solution Partners at Carilion Children’s.

Stacie Stapleton, MD

Hematology / Oncology

Dr. Stapleton is the division chief of oncology and director of pediatric neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Dr. Stapleton joined the hospital in 2007 and is double-board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. She has formal training in pediatric neuro-oncology. Dr. Stapleton is on the Pediatric Palliative Care Team at Johns Hopkins All Children’s and she specializes in symptom control and end of life care. She has been awarded numerous grants for phase I studies for patients with brain and spinal cord tumors as well as clinical research in pediatric palliative care. Dr. Stapleton’s research experience includes investigator-initiated and multi-center research projects.

Paola Dees, MD

Hospital Medicine

Dr. Dees serves as the medical director for Utilization Management and physician adviser supporting the Utilization Management, Case Management and Health Information Management teams at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. In her role, she collaborates with many teams across the institution to ensure our facility is complying with health regulations and policies while providing high quality, evidence-based, comprehensive and family-centered care. Dr. Dees practices as a pediatric hospitalist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She cares for patients with common pediatric conditions, as well as children with medical complexity, who require hospitalization. Her clinical interests include improving discharge planning and evaluating processes that may help reduce or prevent readmissions.

Dr. Siraj is a pediatric hospitalist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 2014. Dr. Siraj earned her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her intern year at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Florida.
