Current Projects:

Glycans and glycan-binding proteins in eosinophilic diseases

Identify human airway glycan ligands for Siglec-8, their roles in eosinophilic airway inflammation, and their regulation eosinophilic and mast cell diseases

Identify human skin and gut glycan ligands for Siglec-8, their relationship to airway ligands, and their regulation in mast cell mediated human diseases

Siglecs in neurodegenerative diseases

Identify glycan ligands for Siglec-8 (human), hSiglec-3 (human) and Siglec-F (mouse) in the brains of mice and humans.

Determine the distributions of Siglecs and their ligands in human the cerebral cortex of unaffected and Alzheimer's disease subjects.

Determine the functions of Siglecs and their ligands in disease progression in mouse models of human Alzheimer's disease

The ganglioside interactome

Synthesize photoactive click chemistry derivatives of the major gangliosides of human tissues

Deliver photoactive clickable gangliosides to human cell surfaces

Identify different ganglioside recognition proteins by mass spectrometry using isobaric mass tags
