Background

Dr. Melissa Camp is the lead breast surgeon in the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center's Breast Program at Green Spring Station. As the lead breast surgeon, Dr. Camp works closely with experts from medical oncology, radiation oncology, imaging and pathology to deliver comprehensive multidisciplinary breast cancer care to patients in a convenient community setting.

Dr. Camp specializes in providing compassionate breast cancer treatment, including nipple-sparing mastectomy and breast conservation surgery, and helping newly-diagnosed patients navigate the decision-making process. She sees patients at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and at Johns Hopkins Health Care & Surgery Center - Green Spring Station. 

Dr. Camp received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/molecular biology summa cum laude from Dartmouth College. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and went on to complete residencies in general surgery and preventive medicine and to earn a master's degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. 

As a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology, Dr. Camp has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented her work at national and international medical meetings.
