Assistant Professor of Medicine

Research Interests: Intestinal ion transport; cellular physiology; membrane trafficking

Dr. Singh’s research interests focus on the molecular mechanisms that regulate the recycling and delivery of proteins to plasma membrane. Specifically, she is working to understand the trafficking and molecular regulation of intestinal Na+/H+ exchanger 3 in various diarrheal diseases. She uses a variety of techniques, including confocal, 2 photon, SIM microscopy, biochemical reconstitution and molecular biology (protein-protein, protein-lipid interactions), to study the interplay between NHE3, its regulating protein complexes (cytoskeletal and endosomal) and membrane trafficking. more
