Background
Dr. Zishan Siddiqui is an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is a hospitalist with clinical expertise in internal medicine.
Dr. Siddiqui completed his medical education at Hacettepe University and his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
His research interests include COVID-19 disease-related outcomes, patient-centered care & patient experience, and health services delivery.
In one of the largest pre- and post-evaluation studies, Dr. Siddiqui and his colleague, Daniel Brotman, M.D., found that hospital renovations do not improve patient satisfaction. The research has garnered national recognition. He also demonstrated that the hospitals rated 5-Star on patient experience provide far fewer services than non-5-Star rated hospitals. These studies were widely covered in the national media.
Dr. Siddiqui also spends time in India and Turkey. He teaches and mentors medical students from minority and underserved backgrounds.
