Caring for the Community | Meet Dr. Tina Kumra
Background
Tina Kumra, MD, MPH has been a pediatrician in Baltimore since 2010. She is the Medical Director for Remington Pediatrics, part of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. She works closely with community members to build health initiatives that meet families where they live, learn, and work. She also serves as the Director for the Longitudinal Ambulatory Clerkship in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. In this year-long required course, 120 medical students are each paired with a supervising physician to care for patients and practice clinical skills. Previously, Dr. Kumra served as the inaugural Clinical Director of the General Preventive Medicine Residency at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. She instituted innovative clinical rotations at more than a dozen sites including the Baltimore City Health Department, Healthcare for the Homeless, and the Rales School-Based Clinic at KIPP.
