Dr. Maria Golson joined the Division of Endocrinology, Obesity and Metabolism in 2020. Her primary research interest is the intrinsic and extrinsic regulation of beta-cell function and insulin secretion.

Dr. Golson received her B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Genetics from Duke University. She then pursued her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology with a concentration in Genetics and Gene Regulation at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University before starting her faculty career as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout her career, Dr. Golson has studied pancreatic endocrine cell development and function. more

Patient Ratings & Comments

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to physician related questions on the national CG-CAHPS Medical Practice patient experience survey through Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score. Comments are also gathered from our CG-CAHPS Medical Practice Survey through Press Ganey and displayed in their entirety. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.
