Background

Dr. Hawkins received her undergraduate degree from Duke University where she also played for the women’s varsity field hockey team. She completed her medical education at Albany Medical College in New York and her Pediatric residency training at Georgetown University Hospital. Following this, she spent an additional two years at Georgetown, first as Pediatric Chief Resident, and then as an attending in the Pediatric department, during which time she was also the director of the pediatric clerkship for the Georgetown third year medical students. She continues her relationship with Georgetown as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.

She has worked as a general pediatrician for over 20 years and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She loves pediatrics because of the relationships she is able to develop with families, from birth through college!

Dr. Hawkins lives in Rockville with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, watching her children play sports, walking the family dog and gardening.
