Dr. Peter G. Hamm is a pulmonologist and internist, as well as the chairman of the department of medicine and the chairman of the intensive care unit (ICU) committee at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary disease. Dr. Hamm practices out of Chevy Chase Pulmonary Associates, located in Chevy Chase, Md. and Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Medical Building in Washington, D.C. He is affiliated with Suburban Hospital as well. 

Dr. Hamm has an expertise in annual physicals, acute and urgent care, disease management and pulmonary medicine. 

Dr. Hamm earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Bellevue Hospital Center. 

Dr. Hamm has been named a Top Doctor in the Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Washington-Baltimore areas by Castle Connolly. He has also been named a Top MD by Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine. 

Dr. Hamm contributed to a publication on the diagnosis of pulmonary Kaposi’s sarcoma with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and endobronchial biopsy. more
