Background
Dr. James Thompson is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. Dr. Thompson's clinical interests include interventional cardiology and the critical care of infants and children with heart disease.
He is involved in research on investigating devices to close holes in the heart without surgery and currently acts as principal investigator for the stroke patent foramen ovale ( PFO) trial and migaraine PFO trial. Dr.Thompson has presented and published his research findings at national and international meetings, and he teaches other physicians how to perform device closures of congential heart defects.
He places great emphasis on providing state of the art care to patients and their families, in improving quality of life. Care is provided through scheduled office visits, hospital rounds, and immediate consultation in emergency situations.
