Background

Dr. Gilchrest is a pediatric psychologist who specializes in assessment and treatment of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She primarily works in the autism and developmental pediatrics programs on the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital main campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. She joined the hospital staff in 2022.

Dr. Gilchrest completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Gainesville, specializing in early childhood studies. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in autism and developmental disabilities at Johns Hopkins All Children’s.

Dr. Gilchrest has clinical and research interests in autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, parent training and behavior management, and early childhood development.
