Program offers support for novel research into the fundamental causes of lupus and so provide new directions toward a cure or prevention. Application deadline is July 8.

NIH Director's Early Independence Awards (DP5)
Awards intended to accelerate junior scientists' entries into independent research careers by forgoing the traditional post-doctoral training period.
Internal applications due July 11.

BrightFocus Foundation Macular Degeneration Research Program
Award provides significant funding for researchers required to demonstrate additional progress before applying for governmental or industrial funding. Letter of intent due July 19.

Burroughs Wellcome Fund - Investigators in the Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease Award
Funding supports research by assistant professors on pathogenesis, focusing on the interplay between human and microbial biology. Application is due July 15.

Armenise-Harvard Career Development Award (CDA)
Award funds opportunity for promising scientists, to contribute to the creation of new areas of research in the biological sciences at a host institute in Italy. Application deadline is July 15.

Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) Funding Opportunities for Fiscal Year 2016
Program provides funding for five awards in 39 disease topics. Research must be relevant to the healthcare needs of the military Service members, Veterans, and beneficiaries. Deadlines begin July 21.

Searle Scholars Program
