NIH Requiring Use of xTrain Commons

Beginning January 1, 2011, the use of the National Institutes of Health’s xTrain Commons module will be required to electronically prepare and submit the PHS 2271 Statement of Appointment form and PHS 416-7 Termination Notice for nearly all NIH institutional research training, fellowships, education, and career development awards. Potential users are encouraged to review the xTrain instructions and training resources available on the eRA Commons website at: http://era.nih.gov/services_for_
applicants/other/xTrain.cfm. This website provides new users with information on getting started in the XTrain system and a sample environment to learn about its features.

General questions concerning using xTrain should be directed to the eRA Commons Helpdesk at http://ithelpdesk.nih.gov/eRA/.
