Located within Suburban Hospital, our Behavioral Outpatient Mental Health Services program offers a comprehensive clinical continuum to provide the least restrictive, most effective level of care to individuals and their families. Our goals are to support a successful discharge from inpatient status or to avert hospitalization by providing intensive outpatient programming.
These services are intended to complement concurrent individual therapy. Clients need to be referred by a provider, Emergency Department or an inpatient unit.
Intensive Outpatient Program/Day Treatment Program
Clients appropriate for these programs are 18 years and older, have a mental health diagnosis and are able to participate in group therapy. These programs provide psychological education, symptom management, supportive group therapy, expressive therapy and medication education. Medication management is provided by the program psychiatrist.
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) are open Monday through Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Lunch is provided. These programs are accredited and accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid.
Family Support Group
This group is open to family and significant others of patients who are enrolled in the Day Treatment Program (PHP or IOP). The groups meet every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Day Treatment area (7th floor). The program is free of charge.
