Barbara Jacobs, RN, MSN, CCRN, CENP

Barbara Jacobs, RN, MSN, CCRN, CENP, came to Suburban Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine in September 2010. She serves as Senior Director of Nursing with primary responsibility for all nursing services and respiratory therapy. Prior to joining Suburban Hospital, Ms. Jacobs served as Director, Critical Care, at the George Washington University Hospital.

At various times during her 18 year tenure at George Washington, she also held administrative responsibility for the Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Interventional Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, and on two occasions assumed the role of Interim Chief Nurse Officer. She has been involved with and made presentations to regional and national critical care organizations. In addition, Ms. Jacobs has worked at Hahnemann University Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Cooper University Hospital in the Philadelphia area, and Middlesex (N.J.) General Hospital.

Ms. Jacobs received her BSN from the University of Rochester and her MSN from The George Washington University.
