Sibley Hospital delivers more babies than anywhere else in Washington, D.C., and with the September 2016 relocation of the Center for Babies and Families to two floors in the New Tower, our childbirth capacity has grown tremendously!
The new space is designed from the ground up to deliver a special birthing experience that combines exceptional comfort and amenities with the latest medical technology. Features address the needs of moms, babies and families and give our staff and doctors the ability to provide state-of-the-art care.
- 18 labor, delivery and recovery rooms
- 3 spacious C-section rooms
- 50 large postpartum rooms, each with a sleep sofa and 55” HD TV
- 18 private special care nursery rooms, including 6 rooms for twins
- Dedicated lactation area and lactation services
- Johns Hopkins Medicine Maternal Fetal Medicine Services for high-risk pregnancies
- Advanced infant security system
- In-room medication access via Pyxis supply
- Central fetal monitoring in the Special Care Nursery
