Background

Dr. Fong is an assistant professor and director of emergency ultrasound for the Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine.

She completed residency in emergency medicine at The Johns Hopkins University and, during her final year, was a fellow in the Focused Advanced Specialized Training (FAST) track in emergency ultrasound. She returned to Johns Hopkins in 2014 after serving as the ultrasound director for an academic emergency medicine program in Philadelphia.

Dr. Fong oversees the development of the clinical ultrasound programs in and beyond the Department of Emergency Medicine, including resident and medical student ultrasound training, and interdepartmental collaborations in point-of-care ultrasound education within the Johns Hopkins institution.  She has also worked closely with Johns Hopkins Medicine International to develop clinical ultrasound programs for Johns Hopkins affiliates abroad. She is collaborating with local practitioners to formalize the practice of emergency ultrasound in the United Arab Emirates.
