Mihail “Misha” Zilbermint, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.E. is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is the Director of Endocrine Hospitalists at the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, Chief and Director of Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Zilbermint is known for pioneering the Endocrine Hospitalist program at Johns Hopkins Medicine following the completion of his endocrinology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. This consultation service is dedicated to enhancing glycemic control among hospitalized patients, effectively reducing patient stays and saving the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars. His commitment to innovation earned his specialized diabetes team the Johns Hopkins Innovations in Clinical Care Award.

His extensive research interests encompass diabetes initiatives, hypoglycemia reduction, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, COVID-19 and diabetes, genetic causes of hypertension, primary aldosteronism, rare adrenal tumors, and the interplay between diabetes and climate change.

Dr. Zilbermint leads the JHCP Academy Clinical Excellence, which helps to recognize and promote clinical excellence about community-based clinicians. 

Beyond his clinical and research contributions, Dr. Zilbermint is a dedicated educator. He imparts his expertise to endocrinology fellows, hospitalists, pharmacy residents, and advance practice providers, furthering the advancement of the medical community.
