Dr Sumner was very thorough in her exam, reviewing my medical documents, and obtaining a history of what brought me to Johns Hopkins. She was personable and took the time to explain what she thought was going on. She was able to have the EMG lab squeeze me in to avoid having to make the 2 hr drive two days later as originally scheduled. She ordered an additional test which she felt necessary to confirm or rule out a previously made dx. Would highly recommend her.

Dr. Sumner has helped manage a genetic disease that was only discovered by researchers a few years ago. This has brought me a great deal of comfort since little is known, so far. Moreover, she has provided information that was very helpful to my both oncologist and PCP (both of whom are outside JH) as they manage my symptoms day to day.

Was my first visit with her. It was good. No issues. She gave me a wood with carpet wedge someone makes and donates to the clinic to give to patients to use to stretch the Achilles tendons. I thought that was very nice.

I had less review, this visit, with tuning fork of my vibration-sensitivity nor of other sensory perception- I.e. Cold perception, but had assumed this might come from my reaching an adequate or gateway-level of pin-prick perception. Dr Sumner still, far and away, conducts the most physical tests of function of any PCP or specialist that I see. She shakes my hand, looks me in the eye and walks out with me, being conversant. All are appreciated.

Monday was my first visit with Dr. Sumner, she was excellent, I was not rushed and she was very thorough and I'm pleased to be her patient. She wanted me to have an EMG test and we told her I had one scheduled for the next day, Dr. Sumner went down to the EMG Department and asked if they could fit me in and they were able to.
