I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dorianne Feldman, MSPT, MD, to the position of Medical Director of the Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (Halsted -3) effective November 14, 2011. She is uniquely qualified for this position, having completed training as both a physical therapist and a physiatrist. Dr. Feldman holds B.S. and M.S.P.T. degrees from Boston University and an M.D. from George Washington University. She completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Johns Hopkins University in 2009, including a year as Chief Resident. On completion of the residency, she was appointed Clinical Associate in the Department of PM&R.
Dr. Feldman is an outstanding clinician-educator who has published 5 chapters in professional books and received numerous awards and honors, including twice receiving the Hopkins Healer Award for excellence in patient care during residency.
She succeeds Dr. Scott Lepre who remains in the department and is now serving as Medical Director of Medically Complex and Orthopedic Rehabilitation in our inpatient unit at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
I am confident that Dr. Feldman will be outstanding medical director. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Feldman to this new position and thanking Dr. Lepre for his dedicated and ongoing service to the department.
