Dr. Michael Lim is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Oncology at Johns Hopkins.  Dr. Lim received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency at Stanford Hospital.

Dr. Lim’s surgical interest is in the treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors as well as pituitary and skull base tumors. He also has an expertise in surgical treatments of trigeminal neuralgia.  As the Director of the Metastatic Brain Tumor Center, Dr. Lim also possesses advanced training in radiosurgery. In addition to treating spinal tumors, he is an expert in the treatment of brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations, and trigeminal neuralgia with radiosurgery.
 
Dr. Lim has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in novel therapies against brain tumors.  His primary research interest is in developing immune-based therapies against brain tumors. As the Director of the Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program, his research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of immune evasion by primary brain tumors with the goal of translation to novel therapies against gliomas.  In addition, Dr. Lim has served as the site principal investigator for several immunotherapy clinical trials.  Dr. Lim also performs clinical research in brain tumors, radiosurgery, and trigeminal neuralgia.

Dr. Lim sees patients in the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center in Baltimore on Thursdays.
