This free, national program identifies first-time parents in the community, aligns them with community resources and offers them support in their new role as parents.

Healthy Howard Health Plan
The Healthy Howard Health Plan is a community-supported health plan for uninsured residents of Howard County, the only place in the country with a plan like this.

Howard County BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) Family Support
A wide array of services are available in our community that can provide valuable support to you and your family – from child care, understanding and managing a child’s challenging behavior, work support for a person with a disability, crisis services for a victim of violence or abuse, mental health counseling, services enabling older adults to “age in place,” to assisted living options for more frail elderly.

Howard County Office on Aging
The Living Well: Take Charge of Your Health program, sponsored by the Howard County Office on Aging, is a 6 week evidence-based self-management workshop developed by Stanford University.  Designed for people living with one or more chronic conditions, Living Well participants can experience positive health outcomes including improvement in their overall quality of life, reduced health complications and reduced need for emergency care. The program offers techniques to deal with problems often associated with chronic illnesses, including frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation.
