Retirement Plans

Howard County General Hospital offers every employee the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) plan, regardless of seniority or hours worked.  Employees may contribute between 1 percent and 100 percent of their salary (subject to IRS limitations and required tax withholdings), and they may select from a variety of investment options to meet their savings needs.  After employees have worked for Howard County General Hospital for one year, and have worked at least 1,000 hours in an anniversary year, HCGH will automatically contribute 1 percent of the employee’s salary to his or her account. In addition, the hospital will match 50 percent of an employee’s contributions up to 6 percent of salary.
