Additional Information Neurological trauma, chronic illness, chronic pain, and physical disability may have a significant psychological impact on disabled individuals and their families. Psychological assessment intervention is often helpful in managing the emotional, cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal problems that may arise. Our Rehabilitation Psychology program serves persons with neurologic (including spinal cord injury, stroke and acquired brain trauma), orthopedic, chronic illness, amputations and chronic pain conditions. Rehabilitation Psychology services are provided across the continuum of recovery, from inpatient throughout outpatient treatment, to improve function and quality of life. Rehabilitation Psychology services include behavioral and psychological interventions to aid patient and their families in coping with chronic illness, chronic pain and disability. Psychological and neuropsychological assessment are available as an integral part of our services. Neuropsychological testing evaluates a patient's cognitive functioning in a wide range of domains such as memory, attention, language, affect, and problem-solving skills. Behavioral and psychological interventions are provided to aid patient and their families in coping with chronic illness and disability. Rehabilitation psycyhology and neuropscyhology services are a key component the Neurorehabiliation Program. This program provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation services to individuals with acquired brain trauma. We can provide recommendations for patients, their families and health care providers in areas such as the need for psychological intervention or psychiatric referral, driving ability, assessment of competency, need for supervision, occupational issues, and ability to return to work. - Psychological assessment

Our psychologists are an integral part of the rehabilitation team and work closely with the patient, physician, and other health professionals to assure optimum care. Our services are individually tailored to meet the needs of each patient and family. All services are provided with a high regard for patient confidentiality.
