 Coordinated Rehabilitation Care for Patients with Neurological Illness or Injury

The Johns Hopkins Outpatient Neurorehabilitation Program involves a comprehensive team of specialists dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and service to patients through physiatry, rehabilitation, neuropsychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work.  The Outpatient Neurorehabilitation Program addresses the needs of adult clients with neurological illness or injury following completion of an inpatient hospitalization/rehabilitation stay.  Together, the client and the team develop a comprehensive rehabilitation plan that will help to achieve established goals, including enhancing quality of life, functional gain, or returning to a previous lifestyle.

SPECIALTY PROGRAMS AND INTERVENTIONS

·       Activities of Daily Living
        Including Biometrics technology

·       Low Vision Rehabilitation

·       Gait assessment and training
        Including Gait Rite advanced computerized assessment and
        Lite Gait technology

·       Speech and swallowing program

·       Rehabilitation Neuropsychology

·       Cognitive Rehabilitation

·       Rehabilitation Engineering 
        Custom splinting, bracing, and wheelchair needs

·       Work conditioning and work evaluations
        Including Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

·       Driving Program referral
