Johns Hopkins Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking candidates who are board certified/board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for three fulltime positions. The Johns Hopkins Hospital has been ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report for the past 17 years.

Inpatient Consultant/Outpatient Physiatrist

The successful candidate is expected to join one other faculty physician in expansion of the inpatient consultation service at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Other duties include outpatient clinics, EMG clinics, and providing occasional attending coverage for the comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit. Opportunities to provide PM&R consultation at an affiliated Subacute Rehabilitation Unit are also possible.

Interventional Pain Physiatrist

The successful candidate is expected to help expand our existing interventional pain medicine practice, focusing on interventional spine procedures, as well as conservative musculoskeletal and spine care.   Additional desired skills include performance of EMG, joint, soft-tissue injection, and chemodenervation procedures. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Interventional Pain Fellowship is required. This position will be focused at the Good Samaritan Hospital but will include other campuses as well.

Geriatric Rehabilitation Physiatrist

Seeking a physiatrist with special interest in geriatric rehabilitation to join two other faculty members at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC). Duties will include inpatient consultation, outpatient clinics, and some shared attending physician responsibilities on a small inpatient rehabilitation bed service. Opportunities include rehabilitation of burns and wound care. JHBMC is a full-service, JCAHO-accredited teaching hospital. Founded in 1773, it is one of the oldest health care systems on the east coast. One of five member institutions in the Johns Hopkins Health System, Hopkins Bayview has more than 700 beds and is home to one of Maryland’s most comprehensive neonatal intensive care units, a sleep disorders center, an area- wide trauma center, the State’s only regional burn center, an inpatient rehabilitation program, and geriatrics programs that enjoy an international reputation. The 130-acre campus provides renovated, state-of-the-art facilities and offers quality service to the community.

Johns Hopkins PM&R provides a continuum of interdisciplinary rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient settings within The Johns Hopkins Health System, the Good Samaritan Hospital, and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. These rewarding and challenging positions offer ample opportunity for resident teaching, research, and clinical practice in a collegial environment of the highest caliber.  Options for either a clinical position or academic appointment are available.  Clinical experience, enthusiasm, strong communication skills, desire for collaboration and a commitment to quality are necessary.

We offer competitive salary and outstanding benefits.
